We were lucky enough to race our new Ford Capri 3.0 Esso at the 80th Goodwood Members Meeting last weekend. It’s always a pleasure to be part of this wonderful event.
The Gordon Spice Trophy hasn’t failed to live up to its promise - with spectacular races on Saturday (qualifying heats) and Sunday (Finale). With a P20 during practices and a poor start on the qualifying heats, we manage to reverse the trend. With a better pace, we found our way up in the order to end P17. That was just not enough to make it to the finale, as only the first 15 cars were kept for the last race of the meeting.
With a couple of withdrawals, we had the privilege to race the car during the finale - starting from the back of the grid. After a good start, we were almost in the top 10 before the race was red-flagged. After the restart and four more laps, we ended up P13.
Can’t wait for the next edition!
A huge thank you to Ric Wood and his team - they were fantastic all over the weekend, and the Capri ran faultlessly.
